EB 607 – proven internationally in large-scale and long-term use

With its robust metal construction the EB 607 hand-held metal detector has proved itself internationally in fields of use requiring persons to be security-checked. Today the detectors are to be found in use – often after many years of service – in correspondingly large numbers at passenger airports, with the police and military, in courts and in prisons.

Design

The EB 607 hand-held metal detector finds items of ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as alloys. The EB 607 consists of an aluminium tubular handle integrated in which are the electronics and a battery compartment and which is flanged on to a Ø 145 mm halo-type ring coil. The hand-held EB 607 is powered by a 9 Volt block dry battery (IEC no. 6LR22) or a NiMH rechargeable battery of the same dimensions.

The ring coil form of execution is to be found in use everywhere where relatively large metal objects such as dangerous knives, knuckle-dusters or parts of weapons etc. have to be detected rapidly and reliably. Where very precise detailed security checks are necessary as for example at prisons, a version with a baton-type probe (Ø 22 mm) can be supplied. This also serves for the checking of letters and flat postal items.

Operating

The hand-held detector is easy to use and has an ergonomical shape. The On/Off rocker switch is located at the position where one’s finger is when the device is picked up. The desired detection sensitivity can be preset with a flush-mounted sensitivity setter so that the device is immediately operational as soon as the On/Off switch has been actuated and the automatic self-calibration has been carried out.

EB 607 Z – hand-held metal detector with baton-type probe

On request the hand-held detector can be supplied with a baton-type probe. This permits the precise localization of very small metal objects.The Z-version has proved itself in particular for detailed checks at prisons.
